Personality over Experience
This made me SMILE!l!!! I’ve been out of work since July and I’ve been constantly searching for something that would fit me and my experience. I’ve had a few interviews here and there but nothing really panned out for me. Or I’d get the same old usual line..”thank you but we’ve decided to take a different route”..whatev! When I got laid off one of my ex-coworkers took my resume and passed it on to a company that he was on the construction part of. About a month ago, I finally got a call from that company and set up a meeting with them. This meeting was pretty nerve wrecking because it wasn’t your usual one on one or two on one type meeting, it was a meeting with five people! Yikes! O_O I was nervous but took a step back and a deep breath and with my naturally “great” personality WOW’d the F out them! A week later was asked to come back and meet with two more people and yes, I WOW’d them too!!! Oh yah!
So I wait patiently because they’re still dwindling down all the candidates (there were 15 total). Then….I GET A CALL..what! I come in and they offer me the job!!!!! The BEST PART is finding out that my personality was chosen over experience! I was floored finding that out..I was in awe, complete and utter awe..my bottom lip must’ve hit the floor two times! The hiring manager told me that everyone enjoyed meeting and talking with me and would rather work with someone that HAS a personality, the other candidate has experience yes, but her personality wasn’t enough for them and they did not want to work with someone like that!
So, I AM NO LONGER UNEMPLOYED!!! I am back to the grind this coming Monday!!!
